SUMMER SAXES

Join the Scottish Saxophone Academy for a fun and inspiring five-day summer school. The course will focus on group performance, musicianship and the fundamentals of saxophone playing to help you take your playing to the next level. 

Led by saxophonists Sue McKenzie (Yanagisawa / D’Addario Artist) and Mike Brogan (Henri Selmer Paris / D’Addario Artist) this five day course will give young musicians the opportunity to play in large saxophone ensembles, intermediate / advanced level small ensembles, improvisation sessions, masterclasses and more.  A variety of musical styles will be covered and the week will culminate in a public concert on the last day.  The course will take place in the Robertson Music Centre (20 minute walk from Haymarket Railway Station).

THIS COURSE IS OPEN TO - 

Students between 12 - 24 years of age 

(playing soprano, alto, tenor or baritone saxophone)

 

Players of ABRSM Grade 5 level (or equivalent) and above.  Please note - an exam certification is not necessary.

10am - 4.30pm each day

HOW TO APPLY - 

1)  Please complete and send us the application form below.

 

2)  We will then send you bank details and booking conditions on return. Please pay the booking fee (£185 per student) as a bank transfer.  

This fee covers all tuition and any music provided over the five days of the course. Travel, accommodation and  food is NOT included.

DEADLINE

Applications are welcome up to one month before the start of the course. Applications beyond this date may be considered, depending on availability.  Please note your place on the course will not be confirmed until safe receipt of both the form AND your fee.
